AIMT Certification Standards

What a certification represents

An AIMT credential represents demonstrated learning, not passive completion. The credential is earned through genuine progress and assessment — advancement is not automatic for payment or course access alone.

Checkpoints and the Final Certification Assessment

AIMT programs are built around required checkpoints throughout the curriculum and a Final Certification Assessment at the end. Certification is earned by successfully completing that assessment, evaluated against AIMT's certification standard for the program.

Access vs. credential

Enrolling in and accessing an AIMT course is a separate thing from holding an AIMT credential. Purchase gives you access to the course; the credential — including its unique credential ID — is issued only once the certification standard for that program has actually been met.

A verifiable credential ID

Every AIMT credential issued after successful certification carries a unique credential ID. Anyone can confirm a credential's current record and status at AIMT Verify.

What AIMT certification is not

An AIMT certificate documents completion of AIMT's certification standard. It is not a government-issued cosmetology or esthetics license, and it does not expand a practitioner's legal scope of practice. Licensing and scope-of-practice requirements vary by state and jurisdiction — AIMT certification does not replace any professional license required where you practice, and students are responsible for the laws, licensing-board rules, and professional requirements that apply where they work.
